Pasifika Festival 9-10 March 2013 Western Springs Park, Auckland Pasifika Festival is this weekend in Auckland Experience the sights, sounds, tastes and colours of the Pacific – all in one place. Western Springs is set to be transformed this coming weekend with the sights, sounds, tastes and colours of the Pacific Islands taking over the park. The festival draws thousands of locals and visitors to Auckland’s Western Springs Park each year to enjoy the bustling markets, traditional foods, arts and crafts, and exciting song and dance performances. The festival will feature over 1,500 performers, 150 food dishes and over 220 stalls now over an expanded two-day program. Pasifika is made up of 10 unique villages that showcase the cultures of 10 Pacific Island nations – Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga, Tokelau, Tuvalu and Aoteoroa – as well as shared Pan-Pacific areas made up of stalls retailing products from a variety of Pacific Islands.
